Emperors Palace Hotel, Casino, Convention and Entertainment Resort, located next to O.R. Tambo International Airport, has extended its select-services Peermont Metcourt hotel by an impressive 100 family-sized rooms. The R113 million expansion project has increased the hotel’s capacity from 248 keys to a 348 key facility – expanding Emperors Palace room capacity to 757 across its four hotels.
Described as “modern, contemporary and functional, the Peermont Metcourt was designed specifically for large groups, sports supporters, as well as international and convention customers.” Peermont Group Hospitality Executive, Dave Milne, explains “Public and private sector organisations are increasingly doubling up occupancy and sharing rooms to ensure optimal use of their financial resources. The king and twin bed configuration is ideal for families and large groups, with the large rooms spacious enough to accommodate up to four people. Mom, dad and two children are easily accommodated. The new rooms also offer HD TV viewing.”
The new 5 166 m² Peermont Metcourt annex includes the grand Capri Suite, comprising of a private lounge and dining area balcony overlooking the pool terrace, additional seating to the existing F.L.A.G. Café, an extra guest lift, a sky bar, a 24 hour gymnasium and enhanced access to the offerings of the entire Emperors Palace resort. In addition the resort has also completed the façade cladding of the Peermont Metcourt Suites and Convention Centre to match the Romanesque surroundings of the remainder of the resort.
The Standard Family Rooms feature a double king sleeping arrangement, draped in signature soft white linen and extra length king beds. With warm taupe and fresh teal colours boasting splashes of plum and pink to modernise the classical Roman idiom, guests can look forward to increased living space. The Deluxe Family Rooms offer the space of a family suite with a full bathroom and modern, yet private walk-in shower and bath with separate toilet. The spacious Superior Family Rooms introduce a dining area and casual seating, all enhanced by luxurious materials and the convenient Peermont amenities. A single suite, located on the North side of the hotel, allows guests to enjoy a private balcony with a separate lounge and bedroom area. Oozing elegance, the combination of large windows, sliding doors and beautiful fabrics ensures an opulent, yet affordable accommodation solution.
“We are particularly excited about the Olympus Sky Bar that can comfortably host private parties of up to 25 guests, and the new 24-hour gymnasium that overlooks the pool area, which was built due to guest demand,” an enthused Milne concludes.
The refreshing design of the hotel is complimented by picturesque landscaped gardens with a pool terrace for residents’ use. The spacious reception area facilitates the comfortable welcoming of large groups and dedicated, check-in facilities ensures seamless check-in’s of tour or conference groups. The hotel facilities include a Business Centre, a 12-seater boardroom, F.L.A.G. Café breakfast restaurant, cocktail bar and vending machines on every floor for convenience. Complimentary uncapped Wi-Fi is also available in all areas.
