With more than 33 years behind them, the British symphony pop-group has sold millions of records and is recognized by renowned music artists such as The Killers, the XX, LCD Sound System, and Glasvegas for their hugely influential style.  

The unlikely name chosen by two teenage Liverpool school friends (Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys) was supposed to be a one night only show, turned into a career now spanning over 33 years. As the band name eventually shortened, OMD became more and more successful with hits such as Electricity, Enola Gay, Souvenir, Joan of Arc Locomotion, Seven Seas, Pandora’s Box and If you Leave.  

OMD reformed in 2007 and have consistently toured to great critical and audience acclaim. The 2010 History of Modern album release saw the band being applauded for recapturing their old sound and energy whilst updating it with modern production values. 

The band’s 2007 tour served as a reminder that they had never lost power or impact that they had demonstrated in the early 80’s. With a new album on the way and live performances scheduled around the globe, OMD continue to delight and entertain audiences from a far.

Laat ons Party! is the latest creation of producer and director of Mezzoforte Productions, the multi-talented Roberto Pucci and renowned choreographer Jared McKenzie. The predominantly Afrikaans show features a careful selection of music suited for both young and old. Local and international visitors will be able to tap their feet and sway their hips to famous tunes like Loslappie, Great Heart, Skrumba and Weekend Special. 

The show, a rollercoaster ride filled with nostalgic greats and current hits, is complimented by glittering costumes and an extremely talented cast comprising of singers Gary Burts and Desire Hennings, and energetic dancers Amor Kruger, Gerhard van Rooyen, Riaan van Rooyen, Le Che’ Hendry, Grace Stapelberg and Angelica Christelis.

Now, by popular demand, he is presenting the next chapter in this remarkable series of stage productions with the long awaited “Sultans of Swing: A tribute to Dire Straits”. Featuring the same pin point accuracy in his playing, the same acclaimed band and the same delightful Botes touch, this show promises everything audiences have come to expect from the virtuoso.

The well known Dire Straits songs include “Money for nothing”; “Walk of life”; “Calling Elvis”; “Telegraph Road”; “Private investigations”; “Romeo and Juliet”; “Lady writer”; “Tunnel of love” and the hauntingly beautiful “Brothers in arms”.

Two Shows - 24 & 26 May 2012

Crazy Diamond - A Tribute to Pink Floyd, has already been staged 75 times since its debut in 2008 at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival.

Crazy Diamond takes the audience on a scintillating two hour journey following the history of Pink Floyd, as seen through the eyes of Keith Barrett - aka Syd to his friends - and paying tribute to this master musician. Barrett was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd and even though he only stayed with the band for the first two years, his influence on the band continued long after the departure through their following 40 years or so existence

Joining Mel on stage in “Crazy Diamond” will be Simon Orange (Hammond organ, piano and backing vocals), MD Greyling (Acoustic guitar/vocals), Theuns Botha (drums) and Barry Steenkamp (bass). Backing vocals will be provided by Hannah Erasmus and Natalie Chapman.

Die oorspronklike stuk, `Run for your Wife`, hou die rekord vir die langs-lopende klug op Londen se Wes-einde en het ook rekords in Suid-Afrika laat spat. Die hoofkarakter in My Vrou se Man se Vrou is John Smith, `n Londense taxi bestuurder wat saam met sy vrou Mary in Highgate woon ... en ook met sy vrou Barbara in Finchley, net vier minute uitmekaar. Natuurlik is die twee mevroue Smith salig onbewus van mekaar se bestaan, aangesien John sy ongereelde werksure gebruik as `n verskoning om sy dubbele lewe weg te steek. Maar `n ongeluk en `n verkeerde adres veroorsaak `n kettingreaksie en John moet bontstaan om te keer dat sy geheim op die lappe kom!
